We recommend the luca-app to all photographers for photo productions
All professional photographers want to realize safe photo productions. Corona hygiene measures such as regular hand washing, keeping your distance, wearing an FFP2 mask and regular ventilation are now considered mandatory.
In addition, the contact details of all people present during the photo production must be collected and stored for at least 14 days.
Up until now, this has always been a very laborious and at least questionable procedure in terms of data protection law. On the one hand, you could never be sure that all data such as name, address, email address and telephone number were written down correctly and legibly and on the other hand, this data (usually on a piece of paper) must then be kept for 14 days.
The question here is how to store the data so that no one gains unauthorized access. After the deadline has expired, the papers must be destroyed. You shouldn't just dispose of them in the waste paper, but at least carefully chop them up or, ideally, destroy them with a shredder.
This is exactly where the luca app comes in and not only makes our lives easier, but also a bit safer. Without the luca app, the health department would ask a person infected with the coronavirus about possible contacts in the last 14 days. These people would then be contacted and informed that there may have been contact with someone infected with Corona.
This raises several questions
- Can you really remember all your contacts and whereabouts from the last 14 days without any gaps?
- Were lists of contact persons kept at the relevant locations?
- Did all persons present provide correct information?
- How long does the entire process take until the health authority has actually informed all contacts?
The seemingly optimal solution
In our view, the luca-app is the optimal solution for all the problems listed. The luca-app is directly connected to the health authorities.
This allows the data of all contact persons from the last 14 days to be transferred quickly, automatically and in compliance with data protection regulations.

As a user, you simply download the free app from the respective app store and enter your data once.
As the person responsible for a photo production, you register the shooting location on the website, here is a link to the instructions. All people involved in the production (users) then scan a QR code when they arrive and are therefore logged in to the location - done. When you leave (a previously defined radius) you will automatically be logged out again.
The data is securely encrypted (according to the luca-app) and can only be decrypted by the responsible health authority - and only with the consent of the location operator.
As long as data collection is mandatory, we will use the luca-app for all photo productions in the future. The more people participate, the better – we believe.
